Nearing the end...of the beginning!

So, after an extended few weeks of auditions, meetings and recalls - and having had the privilege of meeting a host of talented and exciting actors, we are nearing the end of our re-casting process. We are humbled by the amount of interest the show has received and are thrilled by the potential on offer by any number of casting options. Part of the joy has been being assisted by our associate artist and original Macbeth: Ben Crispin, who slipped back into role to work with possible cast-members on the intense final scene where Macbeth takes on both Young Siward and Macduff. It was a fantastic reminder of how spine-tingling those moments are, with fresh life breathed into them with new actors

Macbeth Casting Begins

We had some fantastic meetings with local (and not so local) actors today, looking to recast three roles for our 2016 production. We loved seeing them tussle with the witch language - putting them through a swift "bootcamp" with the lovely Ellie Showering, as well as present speeches, folk songs and trying out a scene or two. The life of an Insane Root actor is an intense and demanding one, so our auditions try to reflect this - luckily all the professionals we met were more than up to the task and we have an exciting (and daunting) decision ahead. Booking Opens!

Hooray! General booking is now officially open for MACBETH AT THE REDCLIFFE CAVES 2016. There are still some tickets left for our previews on 3rd and 4th June, with main performances taking place from 8th June - 14th July. That gives you a whopping 63 CHANCES to see the show - but with tickets already selling well, and having sold out well in advance last year you would be wise to snap yours up now.
